Lenalidomide is an immunomodulatory and anti-neoplastic drug used primarily to treat multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) with deletion 5q, mantle cell lymphoma, and certain other hematologic cancers. It works by affecting the immune system and inhibiting tumor cell growth. Lenalidomide is structurally related to thalidomide but has improved efficacy and reduced toxicity. It is often used in combination with dexamethasone for multiple myeloma. Due to its teratogenic potential, it is available under strict risk management programs.
