Dydrogesterone is a synthetic progestogen that closely resembles natural progesterone in its action. It is commonly used in conditions caused by progesterone deficiency, such as menstrual disorders, endometriosis, threatened or recurrent miscarriage, and infertility due to luteal phase insufficiency. It is also prescribed in hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to counteract the effects of estrogen on the endometrium. Unlike some other progestins, dydrogesterone has minimal androgenic and glucocorticoid effects, making it well-tolerated with fewer side effects

It is typically taken as an oral tablet once daily, with dosage and duration depending on the specific condition being treated.
