Tenofovir alafenamide (TAF) is an antiviral medication used to treat chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection and HIV-1 infectionn combination with other antiretroviral agents. It is a prodrug of tenofovir that delivers the active drug more efficiently to target cells, allowing for lower doses and reduced kidney and bone toxicitycompared to tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF).
